Product Description
The HAI by Leviton Home Theater Extender 2 (HTX2) lets users control their home theater equipment from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch using the HAI by Leviton Snap-Link Mobile for iPhone app, or by using an HAI by Leviton OmniTouch 5.7e Touchscreen. Users can extend their connected home control system to the home theater. Users can create custom remote control pages for controlling their home theater equipment, using graphical images or templates. The completed design is then uploaded to an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. When using HAI by Leviton Snap- Link Mobile for iPhone, each audio/video device or remote control will appear in the room that is being controlled by the user. Easily set lighting, adjust temperatures, and control all home theater equipment from this single application. The HTX2 works with HAI by Leviton’s IP-based Touchscreen, the OmniTouch 5.7e, to control home theater equipment. HTX2 configuration requires HAI by Leviton Automation Studio Software (sold separately) which is also used to develop the Touchscreen’s custom graphic interface. The HTX2 can be used with an OmniTouch 5.7e stand-alone. This feature provides the option of control without an HAI by Leviton home control system. Contact closures can control window coverings, lights, and home theater components. HAI by Leviton’s customizable IP-based OmniTouch Touchscreen sends commands to the HTX2, which in turn controls A/V equipment using its serial ports, IR ports, and relays. The HTX2 includes four IR flashers (emitters) that attach to the IR receiver of any A/V equipment you wish to control. The I/O ports on the HTX2 are used for power sensing on devices without discrete on/off IR commands. Relay ports on the HTX2 can be used to control any device that requires a contact closure, such as motorized screens or blinds. Expansion is easy, as there is no limit to the number of HTX2 devices that can be used in an installation.

Control Your Home Theater from Your Mobile Device
The Home Theater Extender 2 (HTX2) from HAI by Leviton allows users to control all of their audio/visual equipment remotely through customizable interfaces using a mobile device. Utilizing free software included with purchase, users can choose from a number of templates and icons to create unique interfaces for their devices, import these interfaces to their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, and then control A/V equipment from a mobile device. The HTX2 uses serial, digital, and infrared ports as well as relays to control devices - this wide range of ports and the relays allow the HTX2 to control a wide range of devices, from standard receivers to electronic screens and blinds. With the ability to organize devices by room, customize control layouts, and integrate A/V devices with a larger homea automation network, the HTX2 offers users the convenience of being able to control A/V equipment from a single mobile device and the flexibility to customize controls for each home theater device. A single standalone HTX2 can control up to four A/V components, and multiple HTX2's can be connected to control dozens of componsents from a single app.
Design a Custom Remotes for Each Room
Purchase of the HTX2 gives users access to powerful software that enables them to customize home theater controls for their specific needs. With HAI by Leviton's Mobile Designer software (for PC), users create and manage custom interfaces for each of their home theater devices, including receivers, CD changers, DVD and Blu-Ray players, and more. Using these interfaces, users can control volume, movie settings, change tracks on a CD, and so on, all from the same mobile device they use for e-mail and phone. For further convenience, Mobile Designer software also allows users to create macros: for example, one "Watch Movie" button could trigger play on the DVD player, set the lights, change the TV to the correct inputs, and control the receiver volume, all at once. The Mobile Designer software comes with pre-designed templates and a variety of icons. Starting with these templates, users can assign commands to buttons, remove buttons, change colors, and so on. Once the device template is complete, users send it to their mobile devices. With the Mobile Designer software, which can be downloaded for free after purchase of the HTX2, users can get started controlling their devices from their mobile devices as soon as the HTX2 is set up. The HTX2 can also be remotely controlled using the HTX2 iOS app or the Snap-Link app, which allows users of iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches to control their devices. Interface files created using Mobile Designer can also be exported as HTML files, which allows them to be operated using other devices such as laptops, desktops, and other mobile devices.
Cutting Edge Features and Function
The HTX2 controls home theater equipment using serial ports, IR ports, and relays. The HTX2 ships with 300,000 built-in IR codes, with an IR learning port for additional codes. Using its two I/O ports for power sensing, the HTX2 can determine whether a device is already turned on and send the correct command. Using the IP-based interfaces created using Mobile Designer, users send commands from their mobile devices to the HTX2. The HTX2 comes with four IR flashers (emitters) that attach to the infrared receiver of audio/visual equipment. These flashers convey command signals from the HTX2 to the devices themselves. For example, a user could press a button on his mobile device interface that tells the CD to skip the current track. This command moves from the mobile device to the HTX2, which then controls the CD player using an IR emitter that is attached to the CD player. The HTX2 also features relay ports, which are used to control any device in the room that requires a contact closure (motorized screens or window blinds, for example).
